It Started with a Spark!
Samantha Moe, M.A. SLP, owner of Mad2Glad, is a Certified Parent Coach and Life Coach. I grew up being told, “Everyone has a gift.
After completing my Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from the University of MN, I embarked on a journey for uncovering the gifts of children with Autism. Combining a strong background in direct services to families with inter-disciplinary training alongside experts in sensory integration, play therapy and emotional integration, my work evolved into coaching parents of all types of children to help them calm, connect and cooperate.
As a passionate speaker, I am called upon to illuminate parents and professionals on my cutting-edge parenting approach, the Mad to Glad BlueprintTM. I present at statewide conferences to inspire hope and offer concrete, effective strategies, including the MN Organization of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (MOFAS), MN Council on Gifted and Talented (MCGT), Autism Society of MN (AuSM), and MN Association for Children’s Mental Health (MACMH).
My gift is understanding the uniqueness of each child, taking into account their sensory, emotional, and behavioral needs. This allows me to develop effective, step-by-step plans for families who want to raise good listeners using a respectful, kind, and loving approach that really works.
My turning point from being a Speech Language Pathologist in a traditional clinic setting to a reputable parent coach was when I noticed parents blaming themselves for their child’s strong-willed nature and limit-testing behaviors. Observing this theme inspired me to focus on liberating stressed-out parents from guilt by teaching innovative strategies proven effective in children with Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD, Autism, adoption-related issues, or similar issues.
My clients say I am caring, nonjudgmental and insightful. They appreciate my ability to compassionately listen to their story and to develop a simple, practical plan — especially after visits with therapists, counselors and mainstream educators haven’t worked. My work has been showcased in the St Paul Pioneer Press, Women Venture, and the Wake Up Call radio show (AM 950).
I feel most proud when graduates of my program jubilantly say, “Not only do I enjoy coming home each day…I actually LIKE my child!”
