Do You Hate The Stress Of Bedtime?

Do you hate the stress of bedtime?

Does it seem like this is when your “little negotiator” is MOST awake?

Check out my short video to learn how to reinforce your child’s good bedtime behavior rather than threatening to take things away. Not only does this lead you to “me time” much quicker but it decreases nighttime stress, which is key for peacefully drifting to sleep.

Now, I’m curious to hear from you. Is there a natural bedtime-buddy your child currently earns? If so, what is it and how does it work? Share a comment below.

As always, thanks for joining me! If you like this video, click “LIKE” and share it with your friends.

Remember, you have the power to influence your child’s behavior so stick with it and be sure to take all the credit when things move in a more positive direction.

I like it. Cute story with little Asa. I’m sure it was him from the attention seeking behavior. Haha. I like your strategy, though. Not sure I have that much patience, but I may transfer it to other activities. 🙂

Sarah, good guess but it was actually his brother. Teaching how to “earn” is a great strategy that transfers to many activities!

  • Ellie says:

We have a 2 year old who sometimes doesn’t cooperate with the bedtime routine. It’s not a bedtime buddy, but we’ve recently begun talking about the fact that if she cooperates with jammies and teeth brushing, we’ll have time to read three big books. We try to focus on the positive reward of earning lots of book-reading for cooperating, although of course she has sometimes tested the limit… when she resisted, which took up time, we told her that we no longer had time to read that many; only two or one. A little stressful, but because we’ve maintained the limit a couple times, the overall strategy is almost always successful.
